WAVERLEY EMERGENCY ADOLESCENT CARE


Waverley Emergency Adolescent Care (WEAC) is a most important program managed by an independent body. Waverley Lions support WEAC by providing several residential properties including Tandana Place that offer emergency, short, medium and long term accommodation for adolescents.

WEAC is a community based, non-profit agency established in 1985 as a service for families with teenagers in the Eastern Suburbs. It  aims to prevent total family breakdown by providing an opportunity for time-out accommodation, together with preventative or additional services such as mediation, family therapy and specialist counselling.

WEAC has a network of local support families who are trained and experienced volunteers who are trained and experienced volunteers who care about young people and believe in family life.

Tandana Place is a youth specific post detox residential program. At Tandana young people between 12 and 20 years old can receive 12 weeks of intensive support in a safe and secure environment. The program aims to empower youth to take control of their lives physically, emotionally and mentally,
